And actually, if you're ever in a camper van, if you don't wave to somebody if they're passing, then you're not a true camper vanner, you know.
Well, I was actually just chatting to Mary about this outside and I was saying I would love to do what she has done because that school of life for kids is something that they can't read in a book.
I don't mean to be facetious when I say that, because I genuinely think like every time they walk outside the door, there's a different lesson.
But actually being able to take them, particularly for my kids when we went to Vietnam, which was somewhere like they'd never been before, where they're understanding completely different cultures, completely different rules.
The food is obviously very different, but just even the way people greet each other, things like that.
I just think culturally for our children to be able to engage culturally.
Like we live in such a multicultural society now.
I think you're only bringing back good things for your kids to be able to come back and and have those lessons from abroad.
And I mean, look, I don't think every single time you go abroad, it can be a trip like that either.
I recognize that.
But I do think for your for your children to be able to just show them those different cultures and understand what respect means in different places is a really valuable lesson for kids.
Well, there's definitely a financial planning element to it because that's not as simple as just going to Spain for a week.
So there's a level of that that certainly had to be planned.
The other piece is for me, Christmas time isn't as busy for me as the summer is for work.
So I was off and my husband was off, which is rare that we actually both get that kind of time off.
And then with the kids, we sort of just tacked on a week at the end, just before their Christmas holidays and then a week afterwards.
So because they were already off school holidays, they weren't going to miss a whole massive chunk of time either.
And that was a big consideration for us because I'd love to take them away for the three months of the summer, but then I'd be out of a job.
If my boss is listening, he'd be like, well, you can't do that.
your busiest time of the year we've got a World Cup so I kind of knew look Christmas is the time for us to be able to do it so there's an element to that the other thing is my husband is a terrible planner where we were travelling abroad and obviously with the time difference the day we were arriving he had completely I don't know whether for liable reasons
