If you imagine the screen as like this field of blues and yellows and greens, suddenly these bands of red just extend right along the bottom.

And considering that for the last 160 years, anytime somebody like Doris has been put on a table and cut open, the doctors basically couldn't be sure what was going on in their head.

Are they awake?

Are they okay?

And so with that in mind,

Being there in the operating room and seeing that band of red appear on the screen and hearing Emory Brown declare without hesitation.

This patient is unconscious.

It's kind of cool.
