Appearances
Absolutely.
He's not part of the Reptile Club.
He's part of the Mouse Pack, we call them.
They're not quite the Rat Pack yet, so we call them the Mouse Pack.
So it's a group of young fellas.
But no, he's a fantastic lad.
I think the best thing about this guy, when he first walked in the door, you knew that he was going to play AFL footy.
He just had the talent and it just took him a while to train the right way, make sure his habits were right.
But it was probably...
midway through last year at the start of the year we actually started him forward in the pre-season probably wasn't training or playing as well as we thought and we put him back down back where he's dominated junior football and geez hasn't he taken off since then and I think with obviously Maisie going this year he's sort of taken over that number one defender role and we always knew that he could
you know intercept and and you know play on maybe the third tall four but what he's doing right now playing on some of the best forwards in the comp is is pretty good um you know i think he's his performance last week probably was um one of the best on jack gunson i've seen in a while you know jack gunson's an absolute freak of applying kick slot goals for fun and um i thought disco for three quarters while that you know we had the game on our turns played really well so
He's definitely, his leadership credentials is improving each day.
You know, he's speaking a lot more in meetings and the boys are listening to him.
So, yeah, one day, I think, I'm with Max, one day he will captain this footy club.
Jake, over the last 12, 18 months, there's been a little bit of talk about players opting not to go to Melbourne when they had the choice about coming from interstate to a Victorian club.
I think first and foremost we get to play at this beautiful ground you know 12 or 13 times a year but also I think the brand of footy that we're playing right now under King is exciting and as you said you know it's probably I don't I think as a player inside the four walls you don't probably read too much in and not being a destination club but when
you know people don't pick your club you sort of do start to question yourself but oh geez if I was a young guy you know trying to change clubs or you know willing to move you know Melbourne would definitely be my number one choice I know I'm biased but you're exactly right it was so you know I think it's just an exciting way that we're playing and to get to play at the MCG every you know second week minimum I think it's fantastic and
Hopefully we do over the next couple of years, even this year, attract a few of those players.
Underrated player?
I'm going to name two blokes.
