What is the significance behind that?

I went to the studio that day, and I was talking to my co-writers, Blush, Jessette, Ryan Daly.

I was like, literally like this.

I'm having my coffee, kind of start of the day, and I was retelling them about how earlier that morning, I was like, I think my hair stopped growing.

They're like, what do you mean?

I was like, well, it's not falling out, but it's reached its maximum length, and it just doesn't grow any longer than that.

They're like, that's not possible.

I'm like, I don't...

I don't know.

And then I got reflective about it.

And not to get too artist-y, whatever.

No, get artist-y.

I was like, maybe it's me.

Maybe I'm not growing.

And the metaphor became important enough to be like, that's a song.

And that literally became the verse.

And then when we got to the gut punch part, it was just about...

Kind of the ways in which we all beat ourselves up and stress about our people thinking about that thing I said last night.

I feel like I'm misunderstood or You know am I being a thoughtful and responsible friend husband father

all these questions.
