You know, they were finding out, you know, they would sort of discuss general ideas or concepts of things and then find out the exact details, often from ESPN alerts or Shams tweets or Woj tweets or Woj bombs.
Like they, you know, that was just a big disconnect.

And just that disconnect, I think, is why you saw collaboration and communication be so emphasized in Bryson Graham and Michael Reinstorf's, you know, in those press conferences, because as much as it was outward and for the public and fans knowing the plan, I think it also was about really trying to get the, you know, Advocate Center, United Center, everybody there on the same page and knowing what's going on.
Well, I actually think that Josh Giddey, I think they did learn some sort of lesson on Patrick, where Patrick gets signed, like you said, before he even hits restrictive free agency.
They did allow Josh to sort of linger out there on the restrictive free agent market.
See if there was, you know, any offer that was going to blow it away and, and that, you know, obviously didn't come and they signed him to a much more reasonable contract, I think, team friendly contract, at least compared to maybe the initial numbers that, you know,
skiddy side or even were projected at the start of when they traded for him.
So, you know, they did, there was, there was hints of it, hints of them learning a lesson, uh, in some ways.
And, and, you know, again, like they do make a pivot this past trade deadline and even dating back to trading Alex Caruso in 2024, uh, you know, where they're sort of targeting these like younger players on second contracts, the Josh Giddies, Rob Dillinghams, um, didn't go well, but Jay and Ivy, like they're,
That, you know, that is, I think, the defense of the previous regime and the people sort of around there that did defend them is to say, like, look, this idea that they didn't pivot, didn't have a direction.
It was like we did have a direction and people may disagree with it, may not have thought it was going to work, but like they were trying to do something and thread a needle that wasn't a complete tank operation.
versus, you know, trying to rebuild almost kind of on the fly.
I think the big difference in why people were clamoring for the Bulls to tank is that you didn't have a star.
You didn't have, as I said, kind of a guiding light and principle and North Star.
And it was so clear that Josh Giddey
who's a good player and a solid player, like, was not going to sort of be that foundational, build everything around him.
