Uh he wrote a blog post, nice and sort of cozy, make you feel better.
It was called An Alien Mind.
He basically argues that as a society we're starting to enter into this period uh where
Whereby we really don't understand how capable artificial intelligence is gonna be.
And more than ever, we need human oversight, intervention, hand on the handbrake type thing.
Of course, this just comes days after the story that we've just talked about when they've launched their most powerful model, GPT-6 Astra.
And, you know, don't forget that over the past few weeks, OpenAI
has uh, you know, sort of been in the dock in a way, because they have had models which have escaped from uh secure environments.
They have behaved in unexpected ways, they're not exactly exuding confidence at the moment.
And I think to come out with this kind of statement that no one's prepared for the consequences is actually whatever you think about AI, whether you're as positive or I'm about it, it is actually quite chilly.
There is an aspect to this as well, which I kind of get, where um uh this guy is saying, look
We are responsible for building it, but the people who build something shouldn't necessarily be responsible for the way that it's um regulated, the way that it's audited.
That should happen kind of independently, because it's not just us building this thing, there's a whole bunch of other companies do it as well.
So he's saying, look, the the systems that you have around safety, they've got to be stronger.
Uh the research that we're doing into it, there needs to be someone doing that.
There needs to be um almost
It's like these thresholds for safety.
So if people cross them, there should be consequences for that.
Now, who's gonna pick that up and do it?
I don't know.
