because the FBI found itself in the middle.

That's not a bad place to be, although I'd like not to get cursed out on the street.

And so I'm of two minds on it.

much better and frankly, addictive in a way that I had not expected.

I had to kind of be pushed into this.

I wrote a nonfiction book that did very well after I was fired and my editor started pushing me to write fiction.

They kept calling parts of the book this scene and that scene.

And I kept saying, dude, it's not a scene, it's my life.

And they would say, yeah, but you write narrative well, you write dialogue well, you really could make up stories and tell them.

And I would say, no, I'm not in the makeup stories business.

But when I tried it, I found it a ton of fun, both because a little bit of memory lane for me, although they're in they're in modern day.

But I get to show people the inside of places that they can't see through fiction, which is freeing in a way.

harder than nonfiction in some ways, but freeing in a way.

So I can take them inside the FBI, inside the Justice Department, in this book, inside a huge hedge fund where I once worked at such a place.

And I have a lot of fun doing it.

And my whole family's involved.

My wife is my editor-in-chief and my five kids all give me brutal but loving feedback.

So that makes it fun for me too.

Probably not.

I mean, I've stayed away from D.C.
