Whereas those of the B field, which is closely related to the electromagnetic field today, uh their conserved charge was called weak hypercharge.
So weak is a spin and weak hypercharge still exist, but now they've sort of been rearranged a bit.
And so th this sort of coupling and interactions between the weak and the sh the electromagnetic forces is um why those are called electro-weak in terms of when they're unified, which happens at very high energies prior to the spontaneous symmetry breaking.
They're essentially treated as a a single force, which has different manifestations at uh lower energy levels after the spontaneous symmetry breaking.
And that draws our journey through the standard model to a conclusion.
So hopefully you found this series of episodes interesting.
I know it's a bit technical, but if you need to re-listen, uh feel free to do that.
It might be uh handy to sort of consolidate some of the ideas.
But gauge theory uh is very interesting and I think it really does unify the structure of the standard model and helps us to understand how all of the different particles and forces relate to each other.
In the future I may do uh further discussion of additional complications that I haven't talked about, such as uh neutrino oscillation and uh further details of the strong nuclear force.
But we'll leave it there for the moment.
So uh thanks again for everyone's support with listening to the podcast.
