probably I might use my perspective from club land a little bit here, having navigated a few challenging situations in my time at North Melbourne.
I think sometimes in these, you jump very quickly to wanting to do the right thing.
I think sometimes it's important to pause, reflect, take advice, go outside of your normal network and think about it from a different angle.
And I think we are a game that likes to keep moving.
We're constantly moving to the next thing, the next thing.
Maybe haste sometimes is not our friend and we should just slow down and take counsel, take advice.
And I know a few times when we had challenges in my time at North, that's exactly what we did, thankfully, because we probably would have made some errors if we didn't on some challenging situations.
It's before my time back at the PA, but we opened the door to that in the last CBA.
So we're very much open to that conversation.
It's really a matter for probably the AFL and the clubs to get some level of alignment.
And if they can find their way through that, we're very open to it.
I think giving players freedom, flexibility, choice is a good thing.
I think it ultimately helps competitive balance, having more freedom and flexibility.
So, yeah, it's something we've been open to historically.
It's not something, to be honest, I've discussed in my eight months in the role because we kind of opened the door two or three years ago and the AFL and the clubs haven't wanted to step through it just yet.
I mean, I was with the PA for a period of time.
I went into Clubland, absolutely loved my four years at North Melbourne with some challenges, but some great success in the W program through that period.
What we get the opportunity to do is to talk to 18 different groups of players or 36 across the two competitions and
every day, understand all the issues and then have a role to hopefully shape the game, you know, to make it better for everyone, to grow the game, but ultimately make it better for that playing group.
That's a huge responsibility.
