looking after um their players um they're trying to help them through some really complex situations with a hope that they're going to come back and play some fantastic footy and in many cases we see that and that's something the game should be proud of the way we care for our people the way we help them through challenge and they come back and they have a you know really positive impact on the game sometimes it doesn't go that way sometimes the relationships will come to an end um working our way through that um and hopefully you know if it if
circumstances do get to those places, the players, the clubs, they can go their separate ways in a really comfortable way.
I hope that's not the case here.
What we hope is that a couple of players get through some challenges and get back to playing footy.
I don't think we've got players taking the mickey out of things.
I think I said earlier, we haven't got scenarios where players are just sitting at home choosing not to be footballers.
There's challenges and complexities in all of these cases that play out.
And I think we're seeing that.
We are seeing that.
Unfortunately, the game is extraordinarily hard.
It demands a lot of you.
in some cases, you know, the challenges that people go through in all walks of life, you know, they do become a bit too much, you know, for the players to meet the expectations of the game, which are significant.
I don't necessarily accept that proposition.
I mean, I can only say it in so many ways.
They're not doing it because they just don't want to go to work.
There's other factors at play.
There's complexities at play.
But also, and I said before, there will come a point.
There will always come a point where the relationship needs to keep working for both player and club.
