Now, let's just clarify for listeners.
If you own a house, you can insure it and claim everything.
If you own an apartment, it's different.
Could you explain how that works, Adrianne?
That is the insuring of the building in which your apartment is in is covered as well by the body corporate.
Let me tell you, I had an investment property unit.
I had landlord insurance on it, which people thought was a bit over the top, but probably because I am familiar as a financial journalist with the terrain, I went and got this landlord insurance.
And as you say, it was terribly reasonable at the time, a couple of hundred dollars a year.
On New Year's Eve, at one o'clock in the morning,
There was a fire in the unit, in the apartment, where somebody basically set the place on fire by accident.
And they paid out.
I was chuffed.
I couldn't believe it.
I put in my board and they paid out everything.
