But yeah, so he he got a start in the in the nineteen eighties um uh working with the bands like bands like uh Erasure, Gary Newman and Sting, and his first kind of main major hit was in in the late eighties uh when weirdly he produced that loads of money song uh with Harry Enfield, uh Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson uh from the f from The Fast.

That's true.
Uh yeah, but then obviously it was it was uh 1998's Ray of Light and then again working with with Madonna and Beautiful Stranger for the Austin Powers um uh soundtrack in in 99 that really sort of solidified him at the very top of his game.
He won he won several uh several Grammys for for Ray of Light, and I think that sort of uh went on then to work with Blur.
He produced uh Melcy's debut album as well, which again absolute bangers like classic, classic.
Which is excellent.

Then he had success in his own right with it with his own solo career, uh released uh pieces in the modern style in 1999, which went to number two.
Uh and then kind of had been working in the background kind of alongside other uh other other artists over the last uh over the last numbers of decades, including uh Robbie Williams, Prince, Craftwork, Britney Spears, U2, Girls Allowed, Pink, as we mentioned.
Um more recently, he'd he'd had um a mental health crisis which had been linked to drug use.
abuse uh and um was was in recovery from that uh and then last week obviously it was or uh in at the end of july it was announced that he that he had died at home with no no uh no no cause of death given uh but I think the outpouring of kind of uh commemorations for him and the impact that he's had on music was I mean he he is to me the divine like he him and Madonna defined the nineties in in a way that uh that

late stage of the nineties in a way that I just don't think anyone else can.
Uh and Madonna um led like with a beautiful tribute to him said that she she had an epiphany when she she met and started working with and realised that music didn't have to fit into categories or genres uh and created an album of their own.
And I really think that that comes through with with Ray of Light and and you know obviously he was such an important collaborator to her and someone who she seemed to like have had had a had a really close relationship with as well.

Yeah, it's it's just it it he it the he's one of those people who I don't think that you necessarily would have at the front of your mind, kind of like you wouldn't remember the impact you have until like you kinda sit down and are confronted with it.
