But it left me kind of, it left me a little conflicted for exactly that reason.
Kind of at what point is, at what point is protest at the event meaningless?
You know what I mean?
Like at what point, so she was wearing a stunning, I'm not even going to attempt to remember the name of the designer off the top of my head.
But she was wearing, it was inspired by or created by something, the 1% was kind of the inspiration for it.
And it was this like opulent over the top, huge sort of grey gown, really sort of a tulle gown, this huge kind of, you know, sort of very over the top.
And then she was wearing a money blindfold.
And I suppose the story,
the story behind it being kind of how there is this out of touch 1% who are so blinded to the realities of the life of those people who are kind of, to the rest of the people that exist in the world.
And so I was looking at that and I was like, this is a really amazing statement, but does that statement still mean something when you're stood on the steps
next to Jeff Bezos?
Or does it then just add now credibility to the event that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are kind of buying their way into?
And I didn't know where I stood on this.
I actually don't know where I sat on this.
So, but I mean, that sort of like that storyline behind it does kind of, that adds like a certain, like that adds a campness to us as well as adding kind of like a much more salient points to it where it's like, here you have the opulence of the 1% dressed in their shit, ignoring.
the sort of the issues of the people and it's like when you put that next to the extremely standard sort of midnight blue dress that Lauren Sanchez wore it just sort of is like there is and I think you see this with sort of
right wing and right wing leaning kind of institutions and celebrations that sort of creativity and interest and fun gets washed out.
And so like, I do think that sort of, you know, the Met Gala minus the kind of the statement pieces, the sort of the people who bring that interest, the art, the art, the queers.
It is.
it it isn't it's just going to be 450 people walking up the steps wearing different versions of Lauren Sanchez's relatively boring beautiful beautiful boring but boring game yeah um I think one of the things that I think I know we're speaking about guesses here but one of the things I suppose that became um a talking point this year in a way that I kind of hadn't in the previous years is
