Tank B asks, for a Reef's Parenting Corner, my son, recently turned six, has taken to saying that anything I have seasoned is, quote, too spicy.
While I do love a higher spice level than most, I always make it a point to limit or remove heat from what I make for everyone else, cooking anything I want spicy separately.
But this is milk is spicy level of sensitivity from my son that has left me perplexed.
How can I guide him along into the wonderful world of seasoned foods?
If you find something that they actually like that has a little bit of spice to it, you can just throw all that food down their gullet and eventually convince them that this is a good thing.
Sure.
We did that with salsa for my son, who anything that was spicier than mayo, he didn't like.
So we fixed him of that.
It just took a while.
But he's more sensitive to spice than he rightfully should be.
