Like this to me is a beautiful metaphor.

And so much of what Jesus says in the gospels is metaphors, beautiful metaphors and stories to inspire us.
So for me, the journey of faith was that I found myself just not believing.
The more that I read the Bible and studied different translations of the Bible, whether it was the New International Version or the New Revised Standard Version or the King James or
And the more that I studied other religious texts, the Dhammapada, the Bhagavad Gita, the Tao Te Ching, the more that I realized that all of these things are just a way to try to explain something that's incredible.
If you look at the Tao Te Ching and the Bible, the opening sentence of both of them written thousands of years apart in totally different cultures is almost exactly the same.
Like the opening line of the Tao Te Ching is the Tao that can be named is not the eternal Tao.
And the opening line of the gospel is, you know, in the beginning there was the word and the word was of God and the word was God.
Which is like, it's meant to be a contradiction.
Like the word was of God and the word was God.
So it's just like the Tao.
The Tao that can be named is not the eternal Tao.
So I felt like, oh, this is...
something saying to us, hey, there's a thing that we won't need to talk about.
But by putting it into words, you're gonna screw it up.
So we're just gonna try to use words to explain what it is, but the words will fail.
Because this is a mystery that you can't understand.
