So I don't want to lead the witness in any way.
What's your thinking on where hurling is at, particularly at the elite end right now?
So...
It's a difficult balance.
I see a few people who are saying here, oh, look at these Leinster lads trying to have a cut at the Munster Championship.
I don't think it is because I also, for a long time, I've thought the solution to this isn't to bring Munster back to the pack.
It has to be a case of the Leinster teams need to improve.
This idea that we would take a championship that...
like for anyone who's accusing that by the way the three of us love the monster championship and every year we talk about how great it is and the fantastic games that we're seeing the reality is that those teams are that step ahead like i would say there's levels to this right now and i hope for scale's sake that galway are able to bridge that gap and give cork a really good semi-final in a few weeks time but at the moment it feels like the monster teams in a general sense are quite a bit ahead of leinster look at the underage results that's bearing it out we're gonna have a game in limerick now next week
between Limerick and Tipperary.
We've got Clare as the under-20 All-Ireland champions at the moment.
The reality is that the Munster teams are doing it right currently and the Leinster teams have to catch up.
The reason I bring it up, Dermot, about the idea of maybe having a different championship structure, and a few people have suggested it there, would just be that maybe the Leinster teams then get to play the Munster teams more often.
There is that possibility that, you know, if we're getting these great games where Cork are playing Limerick continually and Clare are playing Tipperary
And unfortunately for the Leinster teams, there's a very uncompetitive championship right now.
I know it was very exciting this year.
They're not getting to play at a very, very top off enough.
And then maybe that means that it is only with the semi-finals that this actually lights up on.
I don't know if the Munster championship is worth sacrificing for that though, Niamh, but it probably isn't.
100%.
