So again, investors are demanding a little bit more premium to lend money to government.
So that's what we've seen.
But those bond yields, particularly a bond yield like the US 10-year government bond yield, it flows through to everything.
It affects the price of money all around the world.
And so the money that you pay on a car loan or a home loan or a business loan is affected by how that 10-year government bond yield works.
So that's what makes it so important to
And that's why everyone gets a bit skittish when bond yields start to rise as they have been, particularly in the share market.
If you think of what the share market does, it values companies based on their future profits, uses what's called a discount rate to discount the future profits off into the 10 years, five years, however many years into the future.
the bond yield helps set that discount rate.
When bond yields rise, you discount future profits by more, and that means you should logically pay less for a share and the equity markets fall.
We haven't really seen that, Anthony, so far, because everybody's betting on this AI boom to run on.
But the question is, do rising bond yields eventually start to whack equity markets and hit Wall Street and the ASX?
And I think that's what everyone's watching, right?
Look, Guzmany Gomez, their American adventure was pretty limited.

One of the co-CEOs, Steven Marks, he's been living over there for the last three months.
Feels like he had a last roll of the dice to get this going, and it's just not getting the traction they need.
