When they're like, God is just using you and you have such a gift.

And meanwhile, I'm nine years old and it doesn't feel that way.

And that was hard for me and it's hard for anyone.

And so I didn't really understand God.

I don't know why God would do this to me if he loved me.

And so I kind of just saw him as a culture, as we all do in the South, right?

God, guns, trucks, all of the above, right?

I mean, God was just one of the things we do, one of the things we talk about at the dinner table.
