I think this is something we've seen of René Slager's for a while now and something that we probably criticise her on a little bit.
I'm not necessarily saying that that is a bad thing because I think I would have done the same thing in this game.
You bring on players that kind of just tighten the pitch a bit.
The pitch was so wide before that.
I think Arsenal were just playing like a really, really expansive brand of football.
You bring on Caitlin Ford and Chloe Kelly and they both know how to hold their position.
I think the pitch suddenly becomes a lot smaller because
And that is what Arsenal want to do to Brighton.
They kind of want to suffocate them, make it a cagey game and close out the 90 minutes.
And I think that works because as much as Arsenal don't look great, Brighton don't look great in the second half either.
They have a handful of chances, but so do we.
And none of them really look completely killer.
So yeah, I think that this is,
it worked.
It definitely made Arsenal look less exciting.
And I think that's fair enough from a criticism point, but I do think like bringing the freedom on and bringing the Chloe Kelly, bringing the Caitlin Ford, like the Stena Blackstonians dropping Alessia Russo into the 10, like you're going to throw a game.
That's going to cut a team.
That's going to control the game.
And Russo dropping into the 10 made sense because I think Arsenal kind of lost that midfield flow a little bit.
So yeah, I think it was reserved.
