Maryland's Governor Wes Moore says President Trump's decision not to invite Democratic governors to a dinner at the White House is confusing.

On social media, he says he was, quote, uninvited to the National Governors Association dinner, which is typically a bipartisan event.

Moore is the vice president or vice chair, rather, of the NGA, and he's the only sitting black governor in the country.

Trump announced earlier that this year's dinner would only have Republican governors.

At the Winter Olympics, a new record has been set in speed skating, and Pierce Ping Huang has more.

Meanwhile, in figure skating, Ilya Malinin, known as the Quad Quad, landed five quadruple jumps, scoring 200.03 for his free skate.

That helped the U.S.

defend its team figure skating gold medal.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, has quit under pressure over his role in the appointment of Peter Mendelsohn, a friend of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as ambassador to the U.S.

McSweeney, a longtime protege of Mendelsohn, says he was wrong to help him get the ambassadorship.

Mendelsohn resigned from the House of Lords after the latest release of emails from the Epstein files, and Starmer fired him from his diplomatic post last fall over his connection to Epstein.
