Yeah, so it's like, do you want to win or do you just want to... matched

it's nice to collect my paycheck from October till April and then go on a holiday and do whatever I do I would assume that he'd want to win too and maybe that can change people's mindsets a little bit like we saw it with Darnell Nurse as well like he said for so many years I do not want to go anywhere else I don't want to go matched

leave Edmonton it's a great place we're playing with some of the best players all of a sudden San Jose comes calling two years ago nobody he wouldn't have done that but now he's seeing the team they have there and you're like this looks like a pretty good opportunity for me playing a little bit more sheltered spot where media aren't rough on me and again I'm playing on a hell of a team matched

But it is like you come in there to get to know everybody, learn their faces, names, the guys around the team, the equipment guys, the physio guys, the doctors and all those guys, and then the players right around your age. matched

So when you come in September, you know them all. matched

These guys are in shape. matched

nobody's going to make the team or any team or anything in here in the summer. matched

It's in September, you have to stand out. matched

Yeah, of course, you want to look good in this setting because if you don't look good now, chances are it's going to be a lot harder come training camp to look good. matched

But again, it's more so to get yourself familiar with the team around the team and the facilities. matched

I know they're not in Vancouver, but at least you're in the vicinity. matched

Yeah, he was that role as well when he came here. matched

He was an older guy, played on some very, very good teams, had a lot of success. matched

Somebody you could learn off. matched

And he was, I wouldn't say a fitness freak, but he was in phenomenal shape. matched

He prepared himself the right way. matched

So he was smart about it, and that's why he was able to continue to play for so long as well. matched

So it's good to have these guys around that you can lean on. matched

It was no different when we came through, maybe not to the same point, but I saw Stan Smeal... matched
