I think the one thing too is the Kings have invested some years and development time into Eric Portillo and he has shown that okay, he only has one NHL game under his belt, got a win over uh a a Ducks team that wasn't really ready to compete at that time.
But he looked good in that one opportunity.
He's looked good.
Uh in the American hockey league.
When he's been healthy, he's battled a couple injuries himself.
And so you don't really want to just punt on that prospect either, because he could eventually make it and be an impact goaltender at the NHL level.
I think the Kings still consider him a pretty good prospect for them that is now almost ready to take that next step.
And so if you move on from him and say, okay, we're going to focus on these two younger goalies, both of those guys and Jordan's still kicking.
Certainly exciting prospects, but they're a little bit further down the path.
They haven't played full seasons in pro hockey, like you said.
So you're you're kind of opening yourself up for I I think the we've talked to Bill Ranford a little bit, talking about goalie timelines.
Like the Carter, George, and Hampton Swakinski timeline is not the same as Eric Portillo, even though neither of the three of them have been in the NHL.
They're not
not on the same timeline.
So to lose out on Portillo or to lose out on like an Anton Forsberg who came in and was fantastic down the stretch last year probably doesn't make any sense.
It's just it's a little tough and you you're probably gonna, like you said, have to utilize the the ECHL path, which you don't want a gold center to get stuck down there, but it is good for a a lot of games and a lot of time in
net with, you know, some some high level enough hockey and I think, you know, an interesting situation where there's more breakdowns in the ECHL.
Goaltenders have to make quick decisions and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances in the ECHL.
Sounds about right.
