So I think there is some value, uh, but obviously the contracts being what they are, no one's jumping necessarily at at at hey, I really would love to add one of those guys to the lineup for a value that we'd be able to to accept in return.

Uh LA Kingsman asks, Who do you think will be the captain next season?

I think they should give it to Drew since this might be his last year with the franchise.

Kinda surprised it's taken us this long to get to this topic, uh, as it's obviously been hotly debated.

on LA Kings insider and elsewhere.

But uh Zach, kind of a a tough call right now.

I think obviously Drew Dowdy the most experienced, the longest tenure on this team, a champion with the Kings, but hard to give the captain to someone who's only under contract for this one season.

I I feel like you want to make sure when you when you give someone the captaincy, it's more of a longer term play.

So I was thinking

Maybe if Drew did get an extension done before the year, that maybe it would make sense to name him captain.

But Ken Holland came out and said that.

they're not gonna discuss an extension until uh after the season begins and maybe even, you know, midway or later through the season.

If you're gonna name a captain, uh you could look to to Drew like like uh LA Kingsman says, or obviously other options who are signed long term, like an Adrian Kempe or a Mikey Anderson.

What I

Kinda something that just popped into my mind as you were talking there.

But you mentioned Peter Laviolette, his familiarity or lack of with any of those guys.

He does have familiarity with Kevin Fiala.
