They've done some great things for us, especially with prosecutors and what we needed to be able to expand to help communities.

But everyone knows what's going on with our youth.

And here in Kentucky, in the Commonwealth, we can prosecute children at 14 years old.

Of course, there's some caveats to that.

That means that they've...

I've done something pretty bad.

I mean, it's an A or B felony, and in the commission of that, there is a firearm involved.

But the bigger issue is that what we were talking about the other day, we will prosecute cases.

That is what we're there for.

It is our first priority of making sure that our community is safe.

But the other part of this is,

mental health treatment.

So we are talking about, especially with our youth, anyone, but especially with our youth, and you confine them and then you expect after five, 10, 15 years for them to be better or different when they come out.

And that is not the case if you don't have the treatment that is needed.

There is something gone awry if we are having

children committing these crimes and then of course we have all the even the shootings this weekend and also with mental health court that we have but it looks like that that could be a concern especially in Jefferson County we have to have that I mean we have to have some

some things in place to actually help people if we really are serious about making things better.

I don't know if, I'm just saying that that is what I'm there for.

In our office, we are wanting to make things better.

We can prosecute cases, we can, people can go, you know, the jurors that will determine whether or not people will go to prison.
