But, you know, I do want to address the Black farmer situation really quickly because I'm going to have to jump.
Again, this goes to a pattern, a pattern that we've seen in this country.
And I served on the Agriculture Committee and under the Biden-Harris administration, they were trying to right a lot of wrongs that a lot of people don't even understand they were doing.
whether it was disconnecting of our communities with highways being driven through them, by giving out reconnecting community grants to which my district ended up with the second largest investment of over $30 million.
And then we had our Black farmers
Those that were denied access to funds and granted, they did not get the amount of dollars that they would have gotten if they had actually just been given access to the same capital so that they will be in the same place as their white counterparts and being able to grow their farms.
They didn't have that, but they did recognize that there was intentional discrimination on behalf of the government.
And so they wanted to go back and try to right those wrongs.
It is time for us to stop trying to act like if we just talk nice enough, then certain people are going to be good to us.
That is just a lie.
It is time for us to step up and be okay with
saying that somebody is racist, being okay with saying that these systems that have been in place for decades were specifically targeting and harming people of color.
And a lot of people at the helm sat there and either intentionally did it or sat by complicitly because they decided to remain silent and not actually work to fix these systems.
So I will not be distracted.
I'm going to call him out for being the racist that he is, especially during Black History Month.
But at the same time, I'm going to stay on his ass because we know that he is engaged in so much criminality, whether we're talking about the Epstein files or whether we're talking about him trying to enrich himself to the tune of $10 billion by suing the federal government because he decided to be a criminal or whether we're talking about the one point
$4 billion that he has been able to put into his pocket since he's come into this administration.
Yeah, I'm going, I'm going to address it in all ways, but you know, obviously we're not in session just yet, but for sure I'll be on the floor and we're going to post our formal statement here in a second as well.
Bye.
