Let's talk about her.

Thakani is amazing.

So she is this young woman and she lives in this village and her parents have died.

So she's taken on the role of elder to her two younger brothers who are chieftains who are about to kind of, you know, coming of age, take over their power, their kind of position as chief in the village.

in the village, but they want some special skins to wear.

And they ask her to go and get this rather than any old animal skin.

They want the skins of these creatures called the nanabelele.

And the nanabelele are essentially, they look quite a lot like crocodiles to us, if you look at the imagery.

And in Africa, you often get dragons look more like crocodiles or snakes.

They don't really look like the kind of things that we recognize in Europe.

So the Nanabelele are essentially crocodiles, but they have glowing skin.

And they're kind of like a bit more like, they're kind of like, you know, magical, you know, in that sense.

So she has to go on this big quest to go and find the Nanabelele.

And there is a witch involved in that who helps her as she does that.

And she takes some tribesmen along with her.

So she eventually, I'll cut it all short because you can read the details in the book.

But she finds the Nanabelele.

She slays them and takes the skins.

And then she has to flee while the rest of them try and get her.

Basically, they chase her.
