Um, so I think the first one is really relevant to this conversation, which is, uh, Benjamin Lopatooth's The Maniac, um, which includes a sort of lightly fictionalized biography of John von Neumann, the story of AlphaGo.

I think it's very much a sort of halfway novel, halfway nonfiction book about...

How intelligence is incredibly awe-inspiring and something worth respecting and at the same time can lead people to some very dark realities.

My second book is The Technology Trap from Carl Benedict Frey, which I think is very much about how people's attitudes towards technology and automation depend on reality.

to what extent the benefits, the economic growth is shared, to what extent they feel like they're getting a piece of the pie.

It goes through a lot of history, much more than just the Industrial Revolution.

And so that's shaped a lot of my thinking on some of the economic questions and the populist questions.

And then finally, Priya Parker's The Art of Gathering, because I do think that the relational stuff is going to become a lot more important.

It always was.

And I do think that book has helped me become a better host.

I'm excited.

So I do say in the piece that most writing period is very bad.

And so I think that language models are definitely better at writing and language than most humans are.

But the question that I was really curious about is why can't they write at a sort of

literary, creative fiction level.

Because the thing is, if you listen to these AI leaders talk about their aspirations, they say, we're going to cure cancer, we're going to solve physics, we're going to build a superhuman coder.
