And just for a reference point, I grew up on 80s baseball.
That was the most impressionable time of my sports fan life was watching and learning baseball in the 1980s from guys like Steve Stone.
A lot of people around my age listened to it, watched it.
stone on those cubs broadcasts and learn baseball from that man so in other words i speak the language of 80s baseball so it was wonderful for me with bob costas and steve stone doing what they were doing last night it was a terrific fun nostalgic broadcast which got a little weird i'll talk about that in a second like for me it did get a little bit on well let me just i'll just get it out of the way yeah let me just get that out of the way
There was some discomfort in this because there was the eighth inning where Bob Costas literally apologized for the broadcast, saying that we're trying to do this 80s thing, and all of a sudden a baseball game has broken out.
He used the word disjointed to talk about the broadcast.
And he said, guilty as charged.
I understand what you guys are talking about.
And then later on, like in the 10th inning,
He admitted he wasn't even keeping score throughout the game.
He's like, folks, I'm just an emeritus.
I was just here to do the 80s stuff.
And now a game has broken out here.
He was literally saying, where's Connor?
Get Connor in here.
Yes, he did.
So it came across as funny, and I am not critiquing the broadcast.
It was just hilarious that this ain't what Bob signed up for, but Bob shined in the moment after getting organized.
