Like, I mean, I understand that he's brought in.
It's a serious role.
It's not like he's there to open up lob laws across town and cut like ribbons and stuff like that.
He's there to work.
But there is an element of can we dip into our past, especially after a year in which, let's be honest, that team became wildly unlikable in the market.

they did not like in Toronto.
Fans didn't like it.
Media didn't like it.
And someone at the highest levels heard that call and said, what if we brought back in a guy that represented almost all of the good in the Toronto Maple Leafs and a guy that resonated with the fans and resonated with an older subset of that fans, but also a guy that carried himself in a manner that we would like this current crop to emulate.
And that was Sundin.
And they had to pry him back from Sweden to do it because he wasn't living here full time.
I mean, when you start talking about it in those tones.
Ignore where they came from.
But the parts I was talking about.
The theme.
I mean, could you not say that the Canucks team with the Pedersen and Miller rift and Hughes leaving town and Tockett leaving town.
Perception-wise, the culture and chemistry around the team took a beating.
