Thanks for taking the time to do this.
So the audio that we played coming back from break, that was Dan Vladar's big save in the shootout yesterday as the Flyers erased a 2-0 deficit, got the win on home ice in the shootout, and punched their ticket to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
It's funny.
We got the highlights on our screen in studio here right now, and I watched the postgame reaction.
it was electric in Philadelphia.
They, they panned over to the bench and Rick Talkett and his coaching staff, huge embrace and hug and jumping up and down.
How exciting was it yesterday, Charlie, to watch the Flyers snap this fairly lengthy playoff drought and get back into the dance.
Man, Charlie, I'm so glad you brought that angle up because that's kind of what I in the back of my mind.
I'm like, I think that Talkett might have been so scarred by the Pedersen situation.
Totally.
That he went into Philly and was like, I cannot let this happen again.
I've got a chance to alter the course now.
And now he's like, it's happening again.
Right.
Because, you know, for by the way, like a lot of this stuff came out after the fact and almost retroactively.
But there was a lot of anecdotal stuff where talk it came to the realization that it wasn't like he wasn't going to be able to change Patterson and it wasn't going to change.
that either the habits or the player the personality was already set sort of thing in vancouver could have been part of the reason why he left too and definitely in philadelphia like you were alluding to there he had a chance to jump out in front of that before any of these things sit in i think your point about creating a rift in the room is really important because i think you could say that that probably happened in vancouver as well that there might have been a different set of rules there are some
Right.
So there's all of those dynamics at play where maybe Vancouver was a learning lesson for what Taka could do in Philadelphia.
And now I got to pivot to a totally different question because I've been meaning to ask this since the top of the hit.
