they could uh have even more influence if they sort of you know did a little self uh that's an important distinction i'm glad you mentioned that the difference between the journalists and those who are out there trying to do the the work and and up against tremendous pressures yeah and kind of the corporate hierarchy and structure who you know largely are failing us right this is another point i make is people are very
very upset and have seen this constant flow of major law firms entering into agreements with the administration, universities cowing, big companies buckling.
What I point out is when you're in a pivotal moment in a society, that almost always happens.
It's almost never the elites and the higher ups that show courage and push back.
They're almost always buckling and cowing, as I say.
Right.
That's what history shows.
The change and the resistance.
uh comes from the bottom up it comes from everybody else right the folks who actually have the most to lose uh are the ones who are standing up and fighting back uh so the courage is coming from people at no king's protest is coming from little league coaches who uh have put themselves in between their kids and and ice agents it's coming from a journalist like you and others it's coming from you know county clerks who are getting death threats but they are still doing their job uh you know uh carrying out elections those are the heroes at the moment
Right.
Well, I mean, first of all, Mike Johnson has been an unbelievable disappointment, right?
I believe he's a man of faith, but I don't know how that faith is playing out in his day-to-day life because what he just said is just patently false.
It's a lie.
This administration, I always say this administration can be boiled down to kind of three distinctive features that explain most of what they do.
Cruelty, just political vengeance and going after enemies and just being cruel to people.
Corruption.
So padding their pockets and making money and competence that more often than not, they're just bad at what they do because the people that they're putting in are political cronies and their friends and actually have no business doing what they're doing, which is what you see in this example.
Right.
Really jeopardizing.
You know, the mental health, the welfare of these victims.
