In a statement, more than a dozen Jewish organizations say that X has become a platform that promotes hate, anti-Semitism, and societal division. They plan to stop engagement on X within the next several months. Among the groups, the Union for Reform Judaism, the Central Conference of American Rabbis, the Central Conference of Cantors, and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism.
They cite reduced content moderation and X owner Elon Musk's own posts. The groups say rather than contribute to the coarsening of discourse that is so pervasive on X, they'll post content elsewhere. Jason DeRose, NPR News.
The group Evangelical Immigration Table describes itself as a coalition of Christian organizations that advocates for immigration reform consistent with biblical values. In a letter sent to the Trump administration, it says two policies in particular are troubling. First is the end of longstanding guidance that prevents immigration officers from entering sensitive locations, such as churches.
The other is the suspension of the refugee admissions program, which limits the U.S. 's ability to offer, according to the letter, protection for people seeking to enter the country in order to practice their faith freely. The letter was signed by, among others, the National Association of Evangelicals and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.

The National Weather Service says that after a few quiet days, overnight and into Tuesday, winds will likely pick up dramatically. Those winds blow embers over fire breaks, sometimes across major highways and into neighborhoods. The hazard is compounded by dropping humidity. Sotheby's says an anonymous bidder has acquired the 115-pound white marble slab and plans to donate it to an Israeli institution. The final $5 million price is far more than what the auction house estimated it would go for. According to Sotheby's, the object was discovered in 1913 during construction of a railroad south of Tel Aviv.
It was used as a paving stone in a home for decades until someone figured out that the inscription was of the Ten Commandments. An oddity is that the list is missing the prohibition against taking God's name in vain, but it includes an admonition to worship God on Mount Gerizim rather than in Jerusalem.

Tony Campolo was a Baptist preacher, a sociologist, spiritual advisor to Bill Clinton, and one of the founders of Red Letter Christians. That group encourages evangelicals to take more seriously social justice issues, such as alleviating poverty and peacemaking. Campolo often tangled with others in progressive circles because of his opposition to abortion rights.
For years, he preached and taught that same-sex relationships were sinful. He and his wife disagreed on the issue and even held public debates. Then in 2015, he released a statement saying he'd changed his mind.
