I think, you know, because a lot of this is a fantasy poem, so there is, like, some Lord of the Rings-style-esque, you know,

CGI stuff that pops up, like the Cyclops and, you know, et cetera.

So, you know, it's not that it strays from the poem in terms of believability, in terms of, like, the creatures, but some literary scholars might take issue.

With sort of, you know, like for instance, there's a part towards the end where I guess this is sort of where the Oppenheimer thematic through line comes through, where Matt Damon's character, we kind of get to go in his head a little bit as he looks around and contemplates the moral dilemma of, you know, slaughtering everyone during the Trojan War in Detroit.

So I guess that's sort of Nolan reflecting on having just done a movie about Hiroshima and Nagasaki without even actually showing the devastation.

So I think there is a little of that, and some literary scholars might be like, well, the original character, and Homer might have been more tapped into that.

You know, Greece is the word with Homer.

It was a great Greek mythology, and he knew what he was talking about with the morality of all of it and, you know, with the gods.

So I guess you could criticize.

It's a nuanced criticism, though.

I will say, you know, it's not a grand slam for me.

I'll probably go back a couple times.

It's not a grand slam, but it is a Homer, pun intended.

I had to go back and see Dunkirk like three times, and I saw Interstellar twice just to fully understand

I appreciate it.

They don't always click for me on first viewing in the theater.

It's almost overwhelming.

But I will say it's one of the best of the year I've seen.

I'd put this up with, if you haven't seen this, Project Hail Mary, Obsession, and The Invite.
