And you know, ad acknowledging as well that, you know, you're going to, you know, a different environment, you know
I I've been fortunate enough to coach in a lot of places around the world, Agars, and um to say Pakistan was unique was is is an understatement.
Yes.
It was it was very different um to anything that I've experienced.
I I look, for the most part, Agars, I can honestly say I I had a wonderful experience and you know, I loved working with the players and the coaches uh I was coaching with.
You know, it was it was all fantastic and
And um but then once these outside influences started to come in and started to basically take over, that um it compromises how you work with the players and how you how you can do your job effectively.
And um so that that's what the you know the external influences make it hard and that's why uh you know I I've always been very protective of players and you know and I I really feel I I'm watching the game here
seeing the score at lunch here, sitting here in my lounge room in Adelaide and you know, it's heartbreaking to see 'cause I've I've worked with a number of these players and, you know, I know how hard, you know, how how desperate they are to succeed and perform well for their country.
And um, you know, d to see see them battling and see them struggling.
You know, knowing with all the stuff that's gone on off the field, you know, no wonder
You know the team's battling on the field.
Look, it it's hard for me to speculate um Agas as I I was only there for a very short time, but um you know, I I don't know and look, I can't compare it to uh I know my experience in Australian cricket and my experience in English cricket, for instance, you know, those two instances where I've spent most of my time coaching, um, you know, there's been zero sort of influence from a political space.
So that was a very um going to Pakistan that was a an incredibly different experience for me.
Um it's not for me to say whether that's right or wrong, better or worse, but as I said, you know, consistency, you know, if you want consistency on the field, you need to have consistency off the field.
Um Hagers, yeah, look, look, I'll I'll be honest, I've been very open about it.
Um, you know, I I I battled after that.
You know, I questioned whether I wanted to ever be involved in coaching anymore.
Um, you know, because there was, you know, parts of that experience were were absolutely fantastic, were exhilarating, and you know, you know, working with the players and developing those relationships with the players was was an absolute hope.
