I didn't know that at 19.
I don't know if I know it at 41.
You know, he's just completely aware of like his limbs and his,
hips and how his body moves in concert and so like that's the impressive part because he's still going to add some weight he's going to fill out um but the where he's setting himself extremely setting him up setting himself up extremely well is when he does fill out all of his body movements are just impeccable
Well, Donnie, I was having this conversation with somebody today watching infield drills.
I'm glad you brought this up.
why is there a perception that he would even struggle?
He won a gold glove in the minor leagues for crying out loud.
He can legitimately play center field.
He actually pitched.
He talked to us about that on the first day here, you know, high school, of course, like they're not going to throw him out on the mound, but he's just so athletic.
And it's that same sort of body awareness and obviously the strength and athleticism and all that stuff you can see, but
Watching him move during infield drills, he's just so smooth with everything.
I watched O'Neal Cruz on these same fields when he came up as a shortstop, and the movements were awkward.
You could see, obviously you're athletic and you cover a lot of ground and you need these really dynamic tools.
With Griffin, it just fits together so much smoother.
There's confidence and there's maturity.
So I have zero issues, zero concerns about him holding his own defensively.
Well, they have a light hitting, well, I shouldn't say light hitting, but I mean, Jared Triolo, you know, you probably, if you have some offensive questions between Triolo, Lau, and Griffin, like it's Triolo, right?
So you'd probably prefer more power at third, but if you have Griffin at short and Lau at second, like I, you know, the configuration that the caller mentioned, Donnie, I mean, that's the exact wrong thing that I would do.
