What does that mean?
Yeah, how how should we think about that?
And you you mentioned the word agile on a number of occasions there.
And I think whenever we're talking about cloud or SaaS, you know, it's it's unavoidable, right?
I mean that whole thing around how do you create this engine that can operate at pace and has that flexibility to either pivot on what you're delivering or or you know that that opportunity to really stay aligned to what your customers need and be responsive and then be able to deliver on that.
One of the things we see quite often with technology leaders that are on that journey, and if we just park for the moment some of the procedural changes, um, some of the technological changes that enable that shift to agile and what that delivers, the whole thing around how do you how do you convince your executives that agile is the right thing to do?
So maybe in organizations that have been very waterfall project-oriented before, where
It's quite a predictable roadmap and there's gonna be a delivery in a year's time, followed by a minor delivery in six months.
And you know, we quite often see people challenged with that element as technology leaders.
You know, not not it's not just about how do we change the way we work, but how do we get that mindset buy-in from the executive team?
It might be interesting if you could just share your thoughts on that for a second.
Another part I found really interesting, this sort of focus and attention to the customer, and in particular adoption.
And I know that's a key point where, you know, in your opinion, what you've shared with us during the summit is a lot of projects fail because people don't pay enough attention to the actual customer end and the adoption of the solution.
During the summit, I was watching the virtual, I was watching the screen intently and I was looking at how and where were the sort of little snippets of information where you saw people's eyes light up.
And when we were talking about the technology, you you gave a phrase that said, you know, build assuming failure.
So, you know, from the technological point of view, it'd be great to hear a bit more about that.
I think it might be nice if we sort of finish up in it was clearly a significant journey.
It'd be really interesting to listen to a little bit about how did you take those experiences and how they influence now the role that you provide and perform at AWS?
I think that the word empathy, I think, is really key, Phil.
I think you know that empathy, that understanding of what is the real world, um, and not just sort of a consulting view of, okay, this is what you should do without really having been in the in the sort of trenches and experienced it and having that richness of experience.
