And, you know, kind of being – everything is skill-based and skating and, you know, creating offenses is a huge part of youth hockey and a huge part of, you know, junior hockey as well.

And I think, you know, the part of –

What I learned from Larry was like Larry's loss.

He had a bunch of rules and just, you know, he had about 20 things that were so important for a young defenseman, you know, starting from being on the inside of the rink all the time, you know, where you work from the inside of the dots out.

As a defenseman, any time you're defending any play, your stick should always be on the ice and all that kind of stuff.

A lot of the just little simple things,

You know, he was, you know, very vocal in passing that message on and how important it was.

I think when I played in Regina, I probably got away with being a little bit of a, you know, freelancer and being able to skate and make up for mistakes by getting back and, you know, occasionally getting good saves here and there.

But also...

you know, relying on somebody else to help kill the play.

And then, you know, at the NHL, when players get time and space, they can create offense and capitalize on it in a hurry.

And there's not room for that.

Yeah, other than the, you know, low parts around the crease, like goal line place, like any time like that.

He wanted you to stand your feet as much as you could and rely on, you think about where your stick is and you think about your skates.

You know, you've got a size 12 blade and you've got size, whatever size your skates are.

So you're covering a lot of space that way as well.

And then if you have a good stick and an active stick, not a static stick.

It always talked about having a stick that was able to,

you know, change positions and move.
