Because I understood that I think it was Darren Drager just, I want to say a week before maybe, had reached out to Babcock and he said, I'm retired.
So I took him at his word.
And maybe that's my problem.
I'm too trusting a guy for people maybe not always, maybe he didn't want to.
I don't know.
I don't know what happened there.
But then I look back, Merrick, and I look at his last two stops have ended in some questionable ways.
It wasn't so much maybe for the on-ice performance, but what things have been away from the ice, which to me, you want to see change and you want to see evolution.
So now you bring to where it is yesterday.
And I've been thinking about this a lot.
This had to have been started by the players.
The players are the ones that have to have started this because, you know, Stan Bowman comes in through and says, Hey guys, we're thinking about this coach.
Like the one who is, didn't get a chance to coach in Columbus or the one that was, you know, kind of left in Toronto, kind of a shroud of,
some, some mystery there.
So I think the players are, and I think that the fact that Hyman does know him and he's hired his son to coach his team, that has a big thing.
Hyman is so well respected in this owner's dressing room and across the league.
And so those guys being McDavid, you know, Leon nurse, you know,
They would really trust his opinion because he's so well-respected.
And so it really caught me off guard.
And is it a big swing?
