And there was very clearly going to be like, oh, this is very different kind of like adjustment period that you could tell.
And like, I think that the Thunder are certainly not going to go down in a sweep.
I think that there's too much of an ability for them to get going in transition off of their defense, right?
Where I think it would get tricky is if the Spurs won again tomorrow night.
If they won again tomorrow night, I think I'd lean towards them in five.
But I think six makes the most sense.
The young team, the Thunder season on the line tomorrow, go out and get a win.
Then the Spurs are just a buzzsaw in game three and four, just too difficult to beat them with all their physical advantages in front of their home crowd.
Then the Thunder save their season again in game five at home, and then the Spurs close it out in six.
I like that a lot, actually, because the Spurs were 4-1 against the Thunder in the regular season, and the one win that the Thunder had kind of turned into a blowout, but it had this specific path, and the path, you know,
in its own way, kind of showed up last night in the sense that the Thunder kind of blitzed the Cornette groups, which is to be expected.
Cornette is a traditional big.
And if you play traditional basketball against the Thunder, they're just better at it than you.
But the Wemby just makes you play a very bizarre alien brand of basketball, right?
So like what ended up happening in the win in OKC was in the early third quarter, the Thunder had like a small lead, like a four point lead.
and then the cornet groups just got blitzed and it pushed the lead out to like a dozen or so and then when wimpy came back in the thunder just made like a couple of plays and pushed it from like a dozen to like 18 and then it was like an 18 point game with like nine minutes left in the fourth quarter kind of just fell over and the spurs just kind of relaxed a little bit and then the thunder cruised from there and the thunder have always been an excellent like garbage time team because they have really good habits they just play really hard all the time
They're not the kind of team that concedes a big lead in garbage time.
So I think that if... Again, to Simon's point, I absolutely think the Spurs can win tomorrow.
That is on the table.
And they're well-coached, and they play super hard, and they have lots of talent and lots of physical advantages.
