gives the whole game away, which is that the settlers go out, they try to provoke a response from Palestinians that then justifies violence.
That violence is then used to clear the land, which is then used to put down a new settler foothold, which the Israeli government then turns into a legal settlement.
And so that's the whole game right now.
That's what's been happening for years, basically.
And this is basically just a very sort of clear, discrete example of it.
Yeah, I mean, you know, the two main sort of takeaways from my last trip to the West Bank were from this trip that, you know, just finished where, number one, like I said, the settlers have taken over much more land.
But number two, they're just much more aggressive and much more violent.
They're, you know, coming into communities and they're not wasting any time before they just start physically assaulting people, including myself, including the local Palestinians, including activists.
And, you know, what I was just thinking the entire time that I was there when I was, you know,
seeing all these attacks and when I was being attacked myself was,
they desperately want one of us to respond.
They want one of us to hit them back or to throw somebody on the ground or to reach for one of their guns because then they have the excuse to come and level the entire village.
And sure enough, that's exactly what happened.
A couple months ago, earlier this year, there was a similar incident in a village called Beit Imrin, which is not so far from Tel actually, where a young settler was out on what
they call a land patrol, which is again where they drive into a Palestinian village, theoretically to patrol, but what they're actually doing is initiating friction.
That settler collided with a Palestinian vehicle, crashed and died.
It was immediately labeled a terror attack and it was used to justify pogroms, which then led to the creation of numerous outposts, which will eventually become settlements.
It's a very, very clear step-by-step process whereby the most violent settlers, many of whom are armed by the state of Israel, who are directly supported strategically, financially, defensively by the state of Israel, they go out, they cause problems, they commit acts of violence.
