It's horrible to say the word memory now, but my favourite memory of Glenn is that...

I mean, when the film came out, he was 21, I was 33.

You know, there's a yawning, a huge gap in age.

But we met maybe five, six years later, and the gap was less relevant, and it got less relevant with the years.

But I was involved, and still am, in an organisation called Fighting Words.

And we had done this book project with a group of transition year students from Larkin Community College in Sean MacDermott Street.

And we were bringing them to see the book being printed.

And I asked Glenn, would he like to come along?

And he did, and he turned up with the famous guitar on his back, you know.

We were on a coach on the way out to the printers in Paldoil, and Glenn took the guitar out and started singing, and it was just after the Oscars, so he sang Falling Slowly, and he sang a great cover.

He did this brilliant version of a song called Young Hearts Run Free, an old disco song by Kelly Statton.

It was absolutely brilliant.

So he played about five songs on the bus, and then...

He said to the kids, will I play another one?

And this young man at the front of the bus says, I know Glenya Grant, just turn on the radio there.

And, you know, if it was anyone else, it could have caused a major international incident.

You know, it would have been stopped.

But he thought it was hilarious.

And it was just as well because I did.

And that, in a way, encapsulated the man, really.
