And as a player, you just want to be freed up no matter what your role.
no matter what your role is.
For me as a role player, a fourth line role player, you got to know that, okay, if I'm going to go out there and do this, if I get a penalty, you're not going to sit me down for the next 20 minutes.
You got to feel like you get freedom to do whichever you want to do.
And I believe that it's a part of every role.
Carlson is freed up to do what he's doing.
He's making proper decisions, and he's been outstanding, though, too.
Again, I just think mentally when you're free and you're not thinking and worrying about maybe if it doesn't go the right way that you're going to hear it when you get to the bench, I just feel like they're all under control.
They all believe in what they do when they step over the boards and hop on the ice, and I think Eric Carlson is just one because his skill set is so high, guys, that we can't miss it.
It's that good and that dominating and that smooth.
You know, I think he played 25 minutes still the other night, and maybe it's just decision-making in between, changing of partners.
You know, he and Kulak were very good together, right?
I thought they were good together.
And then you make a move and Gerard comes, and that really has been trying to find its way
Gerard goes out.
He's with another guy.
Maybe they're just out of sync, but it wasn't just that.
It was his normal, what we see, his skating ability, but handling of the puck.
Just the other night was kind of like just one of those wacky nights.
But, yeah, he's got to pull it together.
