How was it?

What a magnificent day.

I mean, the 10-minute mark of the first quarter, who could forget that moment?

Because as the West Coast player from fullback kicked out, he paused.

You know, he could sense the occasion.

Even the opposition team stopped to celebrate one of the absolute champs.

I think one of the umpires on the ground actually said or was overheard saying, just hang on a second.

So they officially stopped football for him.

It was a great day.

Had a couple of beers afterwards and certainly enjoyed those.

But this has been one of those weeks.

And we'll get to it later.

But I've been covering footy for 23 years.

Not often does a story...

develop like it has around James Hurd, the Eston football club, over the past three days.

The enormous call facing the president, Andrew Welsh, over whether to give Hurdy the gig or in fact rule him out.

We've seen the rest of the markets basically stood back and said, well, we don't want any of this process until you make a decision on the great number five.

And you sat next to him, Isaac.
