So it's easy to look back in hindsight and say, Oh, now it's the worst transfer window in in history but even at the time I think people did look at it and think that wasn't particularly good.

Yeah, I understand that criticism.

But then Liverpool did win the league in twenty four, twenty-five, with Slot repositioning or repurposing Gravenburg as a number six and Gravenburke is is still in there.

It's just sometimes about finding the right balance between Wertz, Sobersly, Gravenbert, McAllister, whichever of the three that you're picking, or out of the four, whichever three that you're picking, and making sure that they complement each other in the best way.

And Seb was sort of alluding to that from an attack.

Attacking perspective, but that's also very important from a defensive perspective.

Do these guys understand that their responsibilities have to change slightly when when Wertz is at the club?

Do they need to sit a little bit deeper and protect the the back four a little bit more?

And the two goals they conceded against Newcastle are sort of a consequence of Gravenberg and Sobersly pushing really high up the pitch and just leaving this massive space to vacate.

So that might be as simple as a conversation that Irola has.

With the with all three of them to say.

when you're on the pitch revert, one of you has to sit slightly deeper.

But I sort of alluded to it earlier, but I do think it's also impacted by the fact that that defense has just been a little bit chaotic over the last year as well, right?

You know, the midfield is not going to feel a hundred percent stable if the defense is not a hundred percent stable, if you're switching from Connor Bradley to Frimpong and they're both picking up injuries, if you're then playing Curtis Jones at right back, if Kirkes is not settling into the team straight away and you're bringing in Robertson back in a little bit, if Konate's just having a an absolutely

wild season and um dropping clangers every single week, that's also gonna impact what's going on further up the pitch.

So I think it's all connected.

Well, I thought about this a little bit and I want to take you back to last summer when Mark Gay's move to Liverpool falls through at the last minute.
