A couple of things about this.

One is that META is $17 billion over 10 years isn't a lot of money when you adjust for stock prices and acquisitions and such.

Second, it's a case now of META and regulatory capture.

trying to impose this view on others.

I respect her greatly.

And she said now she fears this is going to become the standard without any data, without any testing.

And if others come up with better means to manage this, they're not going to be able to because they're going to be expected to follow this model out of this settlement.

here a couple things one is that that meta pays less money if there's more money forgetting which uh if the government convinces the other major social platforms

There's no prisoner's dilemma there.

But then what that does is that sets up the rules here, the two hours a day and all that.

And there's a lot of argument here that the time limits don't work and could be damaging.

don't really address the problem but now because of this settlement not law not a you know adjudicated court law this settlement now this becomes de facto the standard for protecting children with no data whatsoever is this going to do a damn thing
