He's not in the org.
He's not actually ever been a part of the org.
But somehow it feels like he's the Phantom of the Opera.
He's looking down.
Yeah.
waiting for his moment david carl like ready to come in and i was thinking about this the other day it's like you see a lot of times teams will have a gm and an agm and then they don't want the agm to move on so they promote the agm or find a way to move the gm to the president you know like you you find a way to elevate people to satisfy them and appease them that was right was it was it was it anaheim or something like that and then it's like okay so so then sakia going up and mcfarland i
Yeah.
No, it makes complete sense.
It just kind of feels like that a little bit to me.
Obviously, understanding the situation is different, but the more that David Carl's name percolates in the NHL circles of teams at least being interested, whether he's interested or not, it almost feels like there could be an element of, like, well, we could have a guy who's in our own backyard and snatch him up before somebody else does.
And at the same time, you're not necessarily moving off of Bednar...
like early right he won you a stanley cup it hasn't gone great until this season really where you got back to the western conference finals but your playoffs since you won haven't been the most successful so it's not like you're sitting there saying you know we can't move off of bednar before this thing goes goes in the right direction you won so maybe there's that idea of let's get the guy before someone else does we had our success with bednar we're okay to move off of him
I'm not trying to fire Jared Bernard, let me be clear on that one, but the conversation around it does seem interesting because tinkering makes sense.
They're going to tinker.
Everybody's going to tinker.
No roster's going to be 100% the same next year.
No, of course.
But that's the one that's really interesting.
Now that would be something.
