It would be disappointing.
albeit long overdue, if, like, this is the first stand the organization takes on pushing someone out with a no-movement clause, because we know they didn't do it with other players in the past.
They were reluctant to do it.
They weren't going to force anyone.
They didn't want anyone to feel bad about anything.
And, you know, Morgan Riley's literally the longest-standing Leaf, and he's been a great soldier for the team, the city.
He's represented Toronto very well for a long time.
You would hope it doesn't get to a point where it gets ugly publicly.
But, you know, I think you guys are on to something.
I think he's well aware of where his play is at, the way it's worked here, and they just need some new blood.
You know, they need to turn things over.
They need to figure out who you're going to keep.
If it's Matthews, Nylander, Tavares, Nyes, and a few other guys, okay, go for it.
Hopefully Chris Tanev can return.
Maybe you keep one of Jake McCabe or Ekman Larson.
Maybe both.
But there's got to be change and turnover here.
And I would anticipate that likely starts with Morgan Riley.
