I think there would have been a little bit of both.
Ped Williams was if not the first and one of baseball's first quants.
He's somebody who understood the numbers.
And we can
in the science of hitting his book.
He has a color coded chart in there that is essentially the first heat map in baseball.
It shows where you should swing and what you're going to hit in different seventy seven unique parts of the zone.
And so I think at first
Ted Williams would have loved the idea of sabermetrics and of having all of these numbers around and of doing things with the data.
I also think he would have been absolutely obnoxious in pointing out how everyone else is using it wrong.
And and there's something there's something to be said for that, Tony.
Like the you know, we we talked a lot during the show.
Uh Joey Vado joins us and he's just uh you know, he was Ted Williams' greatest devotee and
Uh i you know, Joey Joey was cerebral about the art of hitting, but I think he also understood that, for example, uh we see right now you pull the ball in the air.
T like players are being taught that right and left.
But as Joey points out, like the hardest thing to do is to pull the ball in the air just because of
uh the way that your bat is operating when you're swinging it, you just have less barrel face to hit the ball on when you do that.
And
So many players right now are lesser and worse hitters because they're going after this really difficult thing to do.
Joey Joey said there are too many players who have died at the altar of trying to pull the ball.
