How profitable is it to refine a barrel of oil into in a three two one crack spread it's three barrels of oil into two two barrels of gasoline and one barrel of uh a distillate stuff.
Uh diesel it's a little bit different, but it's sim a similar idea.
And so when the crack spread is high, what that basically tells you is that it's very profitable to take a barrel of oil and turn it into something useful.
And the reason it's profitable to do so is because the marketplace says, I want that something useful and I'm so desperate for it, I will pay you a premium to do so.
So the crack spread is basically a premium on supply.
I think the marketplace does.

That's why the crack spread is that high.
But also, I mean the reason they said we can't model this is because they don't want to save only ten dollars a gallon.
If it hits ten dollars, what will happen is you'll see layoffs.
You'll see jobs disappear.
You'll see companies that are struggling.
You'll see a lot of weak companies that have been kept alive through refinancing debt start to go under.
It will be economically every it'll be like every other energy shock that we've gone through in history.
It it leads into a recession.
