On the way, knowing this conversation was coming, I was like, wow.

I was just wrestling and kind of chewing on the idea of, to me, what is that unreasonable hospitality in conversation?

And the theme that kept coming up for me is grace.

Grace can be an unreasonable thing, like an unreasonable feeling.

And it draws that line between mercy and grace.

And so, so much in conversation, like you might deserve me to give you that clap back, come back insult right in your face.

It would be unreasonable for me to have pause

and decide that your worst moment is not going to determine how I respond.

That just, if you can keep in your mind those maybes, you know, rather than they are exactly what you think they are.

And sometimes maybe they are.

And that in itself can be unreasonable.

I think the state of things sometimes, doing the kind thing can be and feel unreasonable to the given moment.
